Baylands Regional Park

I finally got some clear photos of Buffleheads at Baylands Regional Park, which offers visiting birds ample wetlands for hanging out and foraging.

The first time that I saw a Common Goldeneye, with a large white spot on its face, I excitedly thought that I had finally photographed a Bufflehead. There certainly are similarities, but it certainly was not a Bufflehead. Thankfully, it still was a first for me so it got me closer to my project goal. On this visit, it was pretty easy to identify them as Buffleheads with a very large white patch and iridescent colors in the light.
