The many trees in downtown Oakland that are home to Black-crowned Night-Herons and Snowy Egrets are much quieter than in prior days. Many nests are emptying out as birds test their wings and fly off.
One tree was still full of activity, with a few Snowy Egrets birds aggressively squawking at parents for food. I caught a glimpse of a food delivery, but unfortunately fish fell out while feeding. It’s tough having just a beak!
