Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area

Close to Sacramento lies the Yolo Bypass, one of two areas built to protect Sacramento from floods. One part of the bypass is designated a wildlife area, which has vegetation that is compatible with the flooding function.The rest of the bypass is privately owned and largely used for farming. The area is unique in providing land for farming, protected habitats for wildlife, and water management.  Though I was hoping to see my first Tricolored Blackbird, my list will have to wait until another visit.
