I’ve never been able to keep up with the volume of photos that I take to share online. But a tip from a photographer friend led me to try out using Photo Mechanic, a fast tool for reviewing, tagging, and selecting photos. In a few work sessions it has helped speed up the initial process of sifting through the hundreds of photos that I’ll take while trying to capture bird photos so perhaps I’ll finally get the chance to share more!

The Emeryville and Berkeley Marinas have great views of San Francisco, the Bay, and if the skies are clear both the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridges. It’s often quite windy so it’s hard to know what birds will be active. Most of the unprotected shoreline was empty except for western gulls, but we found lots of waterfowl and shorebirds by a protected cove.
