My quest to take photos of different bird species in Northern California has led me to acquire a lot of heavy and expensive equipment.
Many people will ask about what I’m using and I’ll often do the same when I see others with lots of gear. But as much as there may be different technical qualities, the most important factor is that you’ll want to bring everywhere you go. New and inspiring photos can come when you least expect it! The Eared Grebe, below, was from a walk around Lake Merrit, Oakland, CA. It’s a new one for me, one more towards 200 species!
