Many of San Francisco’s natural water sources have been filled or paved over and even the bay is not as large as it once was. But nature is coming back with our help.In the 2000s, the Presidio Trust worked to restore El Polin Spring, a creek once used for freshwater source for multiple populations. Rehabilitation of the area has brought native species back and it has created a welcoming place for visitors, birds, humans, and all.

Bird Facts: Cedar Waxwings call almost all of Northern America home. They’ll congregate in large groups in areas with plenty of berries and fruit. The bird’s name comes from the colorful red “wax” tips at the end of their wings.
